They didn’t get off to a good start; what with rainy weather and me developing stupid anxiety/panic attacks about going out! ( I think this was partly a reaction to my new bipolar medication and not very nice to experience). However, we did manage a few trips to Paulton’s Park; which the kids loved and we visited Andy’s farm – William was amazed with the tractor and Charlotte loved feeding the baby calf. Ashley Heath Country Park in Dorset was a great outdoor adventure, particularly as Moors Valley was closed (!) due to numbers of people.
Speaking of numbers of people, my anxiety levels seem to spiral out of control when there are a lot of people about, I feel I don’t have any control over my children and panic when they run about, make noise and generally behave like toddlers. I find going to the supermarket, library and even church a real challenge, let alone travelling on the bus or train. Everything needs to be carefully planned out with a thorough risk assessment in place.
I decided I might be less anxious at home, so I foolishly attempted painting with them both, which just ended up in one big colourful mess……..making chocolate Easter nests wasn’t much better! I’ve still one week to go but fortunately some of my usual clubs and toddler groups start up again, so back to some normality………despite the anxiety. I went forward for prayer at church today and was reminded of these verses which I’d like to share with anyone who experiences anything similar.
Psalm 34:4 – I sought the LORD and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
Philippians 4:6-7 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard you hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
1 Peter 5:7 – Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.
Philippians 4:13 – I can do everything through Him who gives me strength
2 Timothy 1:7 – For God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love and of a sound mind.
Hebrews 13:5-6 – God has said “Never will I leave you. Never will I forsake you”. So we say with confidence, the Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid.
Ephesians 6:11 – Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
which will hopefully
