This was a really special day for us all and it turned out to be a lovely occasion. The bible verse read over us was Psalm 91 ‘Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” I absolutely love this Psalm and have been focussing on it in the past few months, so it was a poignant moment, funny how God does that!
There is a time to hold him close and tell him the sweetest story ever told
A time to show him God in earth and sky and flower, to teach him to wonder and revere
There is a time to leave the dishes, to swing him in the park, to run a race, to draw a picture, to catch a butterfly
To give him happy comradeship, there is a time to point the way
To teach his infant lips to pray, words to teach his heart to love God’s words…………to love Gods way
The verse for the family from our Community Group Leaders was Luke 10:27 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind”. With the help of the Holy Spirit……….we will!
Afterwards we had a little party at Stanmore Church, it was quite hectic and tiring organising all the food and setting up etc. but I think it paid off as everyone seemed to enjoy it. One of the highlights for me was having a number of friends and family attend church, witness the dedication and hear Steve Lee speak. I pray it touched their hearts.
